Hi, I’m Ellie!

I am the owner, operator and creative force behind palette + thread. I believe looking and feeling your best shouldn’t be a luxury. I want to help women celebrate their natural beauty by working with their best season, not against it. I’ve lived a life of service to others and hope to continue that mission with each palette + thread experience I deliver. 


I am a wife, mother to three amazing young people, and a caretaker by nature. I’ve been working in retail for years now and you’ve most likely seen me on a website, hosting a live sale or maybe on a billboard in the Coulee region. I enjoy styling women of every shape and season and nothing makes me happier than making someone feel special. In my free time you can find me with family, friends, at a sporting event, reading a good book or kicking back with a glass of wine in my hot tub.


My why? Women are givers. When you see, do, and care so much it’s easy to lose track of yourself in the midst of it all. We often don’t give the same time, care or consideration to ourselves that we so willingly give to others. YOU matter too and I’m here to remind you of that. As the old adage goes, “You can’t take care of others if you don’t take care of yourself.” I’ve been there and I’d love to help you find your way back.

What is color analysis anyway???

Color analysis or “getting your colors done” is the process of identifying an individual’s most flattering colors by analyzing the tones in their skin, hair and eyes. I use a series of drapes to determine your personal contrast and if you have warm or cool undertones. With this information we discover your personal season and it changes everything! When you’re wearing the right colors your features shine! Your skin looks clear and healthy and your eyes are more vibrant… in short, you glow! Who doesn’t want that?!

After I had my colors done I looked at everything differently! When I saw what colors really worked for me I noticed my features come alive and I wanted to feel that way every day! I ditched the clothing, make-up and jewelry that didn’t work and started fresh. Getting ready is fun again, shopping became so easy (not to mention cost efficient) and trips to the salon are worry free. I’m always armed with my palette and I feel like the best version of me! My only regret… not investing in myself sooner!

FAQ

  • No, please be ready to remove all make-up at the time of your appointment. A clean face will yield the best analysis.

    Feel free to bring your make-up bag to apply after your analysis + for photos!

  • Please bring a clip or rubber band to pull hair back. A hair net will be placed so only your hairline roots are visible. Seeing only the dominant natural color will yield the best analysis.

  • Anything you like! You will be covered with a neutral drape during your appointment so colors will not interfere with the analysis.

  • My studio is located in beautiful downtown Galesville. My entrance is on south Main street across from The Brickstone and I am on the 3rd floor above Coulee Boutique.
